Characters
“Miriah” Xiong Yi Lian
Miriah is a young Chinese-American demon hunter. She is physically strong and fit; an accomplished martial artist and melee fighter, though her favoured weapons are two specially-crafted pistols. Slightly shorter than average, Miriah is an avowed “culture geek” with an interest in video games, anime and cosplay. Despite her frequently horrific life, Miriah generally maintains an upbeat — if slightly naive — outlook.
Miriah’s “signature features” are her pistols, her long blue hat with smiley face and (muted) bell, and the medium purple-black hair she usually wears in a loose side-ponytail bound up with white ribbon.
Loki Laufeyjarson
Loki is a two thousand year-old Norse god-monster, currently living in the “Really Real World” after a long exile. Loki is extreme in almost every way; tall, muscular, lithe, scarred, wild and inhuman. He is frequently described as being “corpse-like” in colouring, with an unusual appearance that tends to get him confused for a demon by humans.
Loki has a tendency towards the vicious, callous and arrogant, but despite very much being an Old God, he is very much at home in the modern world.
Sigmund Sussman
A non-descript, 20-something geek with a passing resemblance to Harry Potter, Sigmund is not-so-secretly the reincarnation of Loki’s dead wife Sigyn. Fiercely devoted to his god-husband, Sigmund is willing to make any sacrifice to keep his family and his world safe. An extremely intense young man, despite appearances.
Cassandra
A Chinese-English demon hunter, and one-time mentor to Miriah. Cassandra is strong, elegant and can come across as aloof due to her non-nonsense attitude. Loki calls her the “Woman in White” (when he’s feeling gracious) due to her usual mode of dress.
Cassandra appears in Chainbreaker.
Joseph
A demon-hunting-demon. While nominally one of the Good Guys, Joseph harbours a darkness that has the potential to endanger his companions if left unchecked. Referred to jokingly as “Pea” by Loki due to his completely black eyes.
Joseph appears in Chainbreaker.
Tara ‘Nekro’ DeLioncourt
A pale, undying femme fatale with a extreme fondness for straight razors and a secret even darker than she realises. Easily underestimated, and always deadly.
Nekro appears in Dead on Arrival.
